| The principals of Richard Allen Consultants are Alan Murphy (MIEE, CIBSE) and Richard Twist (CIBSE) having a combined experience of more than 50 years in building services engineering and design consultancy.
Alan and Richard have gained their extensive experience working with well known and well respected engineering consultancies and installation contractors since the early 1980’s. It was Alan who founded his own design consultancy in 1999 and then on inviting Richard to join forces with him the practice now known as ‘Richard Allen Consultants’ was born in late 2003. The founding principles remain committeed to their practice, their loyal staff, their valued clients and the building services industry with all of the exciting opportunities it can offer. As well as being a member of the IET (MIEE) Alan is immediate Past Chairman and now currently Honorary Secretary for the of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) West Midlands Region. Alan is committed to giving as much time as he can to supporting and representing his industry and he sits on various other panels and commitees including SummitSkills, South Birmingham College Employers Steering Group, WMCCE Groups and most recently has become club secretary for Herefordshire and Worcestershire Constructing Excellence club (HAWCE). For the coming year Alan has also offered his services to the SkillElectric competition organised by WorldSkillsUK and he is featured in an article in the January 2010 issue of Electrical Times magazine. |
We have a young, dynamic, professional and committed staff and our succession planning is already in place. Jonathan Richards (Bsc Hons) is our Senior Engineer supported by a team of HNC qualifed staff. We place great emphasis on the continuing professional development of our team and everyone is given the opportunity to progress their learning and/ or to achieve accreditiation as Low Carbon Consultants and Energy Assessors or as assessors of the Code for Sustainable Homes or BREEAM etc.
Our commitment to our industry is reinforced through our membership of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE), Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and also through our accreditation and registration as Low Carbon Consultants, BREEAM assessors and also Code for Sustainable Homes assessors.
